I was raised in a Christian home. My father is a Baptist preacher and my mother is a Christian school teacher. They helped lay the foundations for the convictions that have shaped my ministry, such as a firm belief in the inspiration and absolute authority of God’s Word and a strong emphasis on soul winning and evangelism.

We moved around when I was younger but I spent the majority of my childhood in the Detroit area. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior at the age of thirteen and He called me into the ministry at the age of fourteen. During my high school years however, I strayed away from God and His will for my life.

I graduated from United Christian School in 1999 and took a job at Yazaki North America, an automotive supplier, and began pre-law classes at the University of Michigan in Dearborn. During this time, the Lord blessed me, in spite of my self-will, with a wonderful wife, Jacklyn, and a beautiful little girl, Kassie. Later, I changed my major to engineering and took a job heading toward that field within the same company. I was running from God and nothing I tried seemed to work. Once again I changed jobs within the company and switched my major to robotics and intelligence systems at Lawrence Technological University. Finally, the Lord decided that I had run from Him long enough. In November of 2002, I lost my job and was forced to withdraw from Lawrence Tech.

Jackie and I prayed and decided to yield to the Lord. We surrendered our lives to full time service. Shortly after, I began working at my father’s church, Fair Haven Baptist in Westland, MI. I knew that the Lord had called me to preach so I began speaking any opportunity that I was given. I preached every Sunday morning at a nursing home for about a year, filled the pulpit at various churches, and spoke at different special events.

In September of 2003, the Lord led our family to North Goodland Baptist Church in Imlay City, MI, where I served as the youth director. I was ordained to the ministry by Fair Haven Baptist Church in February 2004, and we saw the Lord work over the next couple of years. Then He moved us to Fenton, MI, where I served as head pastor for a little over six years. God blessed our time there as people trusted Chirst and grew in their daily walk with Him. He also gave us two more wonderful daughters, Audrie and Josie. In November of 2011, the Lord led us to 15 Mile Road Baptist Church. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for our new church family as we serve Him together!
